We were able to fly out to California for Christmas this year. Stella's first plane ride and she did alright. Our flight was suppose to leave at 3:00 but we weren't in the air until 7:00 because we didn't have a pilot! I still think David could have flown, but once we got there we had a lot of fun. One of Nana's traditions is making tamales so she prepared the meat as we spread the masa in the corn husks. They were the best tamales we have ever had. She made so much good food we mostly ate and hung out in our jammies the whole time.
She ate a lot of the fuzz.
The day after Christmas we went to Columbia, a cute little old fashioned town with horse and buggy and all sorts of fun stuff to look at. David's favorite was the black smith.
We stopped in at a saloon and had Sarsaparilla
We got to pan for gold and we actually found some. We also found turqoise and other gems

Thanks Papa and Nana and Jessy for a wonderful Christmas!!!

Sounds like a fun Christmas! I am jealous of the homemade tamales. Stella looks so big in that picture with Dave! She's so long & beautiful. She will be a model one day :)
I love you guys!!!! Stella is gorgeous and I love the stocking picture!!!
Julia, I don't know if you remember me but I was in your ward when we were very young. We went to girls' camp together in Iona.
Anyway, I found your blog through some other friends, and wanted to comment in case you'd remember me.
I am happy to see your beautiful baby girl! Motherhood is wonderful and of course you seem to have taken to it perfectly.
Hope all is well,
Michelle Rowe (Jost)
How fun!!! It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas and your little Stella is a doll in her cute Christmas dress.
Mmm... tamales! Our neighbors invite us over every Christmas Eve for homemade tamales. Although, we went out of twon for Christmas this year, so they gave us some in advance.
I love the Stella Stocking, that'll be a classic!
It's good to see that you are following your dreams of the Gold Rush in California. Don't forget your brother when you are rich and famous.
